After almost 25 years serving the public as a dental hygienist, Ms. Silva chose to change her stars and pursue a career as a professional photographer. Anne has enjoyed her career in Dental Hygiene immensely, meeting new and interesting people on a daily basis; however, after careful consideration, decided a career change was her best alternative, and Hallmark Institute of Photography was the best place for professional and focused training in the art and business of photography.
As many of her family and friends (and patients!) already know, Anne has enjoyed sewing for more than 30 years; she especially enjoys making wedding dresses. But her passion has been photographing people. In a recent interview, Ms. Silva stated, "Sewing is very similar to photography: putting the dress together is the easy part; pushing the shutter button is the easy part. The time-consuming, challenging part is the planning: choosing and designing the style of the gown that best suits the personality of the bride, finding and choosing the fabric best suited for the style. Similarly in photography, setting up the shot is the challenge: making sure the atmosphere - the lighting, the background, the props - thoroughly suits the personalities of the individuals, and capturing those personalities on film. Capturing those moments is extremely satisfying."Upon graduation from Hallmark Institute of Photography, Anne resumed her dental hygiene career on a minimal basis, and continues to expand her photography business, capturing images and memories at various events and locations throughout New England.
